GE Healthcare offers two iodinated, non-ionic, water-soluble radiographic contrast agents—OMNIPAQUE™ (iohexol) and VISIPAQUE™ (iodixanol)—designed to enhance imaging quality across various diagnostic procedures.​

OMNIPAQUE™ (Iohexol):

• Composition: Iohexol, a non-ionic, low-osmolar contrast medium.​

• Concentrations Available:

  • 140 mg I/mL​
  • 180 mg I/mL​
  • 240 mg I/mL​
  • 300 mg I/mL​
  • 350 mg I/mL​

• Indications:

  • Intrathecal Administration: For myelography (lumbar, thoracic, cervical, total columnar) and contrast enhancement for computed tomography (CT) of the CNS.​
  • Intravascular Administration: For angiography, excretory urography, and contrast-enhanced CT imaging of the head and body.​
  • Oral/Rectal Administration: For gastrointestinal tract imaging.​
  • Intraarticular and Body Cavities: For arthrography and imaging of other body cavities.​

• Contraindications: Not recommended for patients with known hypersensitivity to iohexol or any component of the formulation.​

• Administration Routes: Intrathecal, intravascular, oral, rectal, intraarticular, and body cavity use.​

VISIPAQUE™ (Iodixanol):

• Composition: Iodixanol, a dimeric, iso-osmolar, non-ionic contrast medium.​

• Concentrations Available:

  • 270 mg I/mL​

• Indications:

  • Intravascular Administration: For angiocardiography, peripheral arteriography, visceral arteriography, cerebral arteriography, contrast-enhanced CT imaging of the head and body, excretory urography, and venography
