The Braithwaite Skin Graft Handle is a specialized surgical instrument designed for harvesting split-thickness skin grafts. Introduced by Fenton Braithwaite in 1955, it was the first skin graft knife that allowed blade replacement without dismantling the instrument.

Key Features:

  • Material: Constructed from high-quality stainless steel, ensuring durability and resistance to corrosion.

  • Blade Compatibility: Utilizes sterile 158 mm skin graft blades, such as the Swann-Morton 9940, ideal for harvesting "macro" or "major" skin grafts.

  • Adjustable Graft Thickness: Equipped with two knurled collars on the back of the handle, allowing precise adjustment between the roller and the blade to control graft thickness.

  • Blade Replacement: Features a leaf spring holder with a safety catch, enabling blade replacement without dismantling the handle.

  • Design: Incorporates a roller that moves freely from side to side, aiding in the smooth harvesting of skin grafts.
